Email us or use our contact form to upload your document and tell us your specifications. We’ll email you confirmation or an invoice (see 'how do I pay?' below) and we’ll get started on proofreading or editing.

How do I get started?

Want to know more about our proofreading and editing services? See below for our list of frequently asked questions, or get in touch to ask us directly.

How will you proofread my work?

We thoroughly check all documents for spelling and grammar mistakes, typos, missing words, consistency and spacing errors. For Word documents we use the Track Changes feature so you can see where any edits have been made. For PDFs and PowerPoint documents we use the comment features to point out any changes. You will receive a marked document for your review and a final, ‘clean’ copy.

How quickly can you return my work?

We aim to return any documents under 5,000 words within 48 hours. If you’re sending a longer document or need a faster proofreading or editing service, just let us know and we’ll get straight back to you with a tailored quote and time estimate.

How do I pay?

We process payments through PayPal as it's fast and secure. You can pay by credit or debit card via PayPal without having to create an account.

For student proofreading we require payment upfront. Simply upload your document and we will send you an invoice - we'll start working on your document as soon as we've received payment. For business documents and ongoing work we can accept payment once the job is complete. For larger projects (over 20,000 words) we may ask for a deposit upfront, with the remainder payable once the work is complete.

I am a student. Am I allowed to use an external proofreader for my essay, dissertation or thesis?

Yes. In fact, many colleges and universities recommend getting someone else to proofread your work. Proofreading is simply a case of correcting any spelling/grammar mistakes in your work - we don’t provide a writing service for students. However, we recommend you review the regulations set by your university.

Do you proofread references on academic work?

We do not proofread references as part of our normal service. Due to the extra time and fact-checking required, proofreading of references incurs a higher charge. Therefore, to keep costs low, we exclude references from the word count and only charge you for the main text to be edited. If you would still like us to proofread your references, please let us know and we will get back to you with a tailored quote.
